Rueda is the coming together of three positive forces in my life: dance, community and creativity. Salsa dancing has became my passion in life for the past 2 1/2 years. A new lease, you could say! Then in April of this year, i began lessons at SITS with Michael and Wow! A new passion released! The three forces came together for me in that one class and the ones that followed. I equate Rueda to American Square Dancing but with way better music, so many interesting combinations of dance moves and one never knows just what move is coming up.  Lastly, there aren’t partners, per se, just community. Makes life sweet!

What Rueda means to me: A group of people that come together to move, and flow together as one. A group that acts as a team, to help, guide, push, encourage, tease, have fun and enjoy the magic that happens when the group becomes one.  A multi-cultural gathering of people that share the same commonality of dance. About the Maestro: Passionate, driven, motivated, focused, trustworthy, outgoing & loving. When you are a “Leader” others will easily follow. To be able to quickly bring people together both near, and far just to be a part of Rueda for a short time speaks so much of the love & dedication of Rueda.

Hi Mike just a quick note to say thanks for the Casino Rueda Class. I know it’s easy to be nervous about learning something new, but you made it really comfortable and easy to understand. All I can say is, it came down to having fun; kinda like when you’re learning to sing a new song; you start learning the words, you start feeling the music and before you know it, you’re laughing and having fun. So thanks again it was awesome.

I started dancing Rueda in July 2019 and since then my life has become more joyful, I made so many friends, and I discovered a new way to express myself through music! Thanks to Michael Payne, I am now part of a growing movement in Delaware and a community of wonderful and joyful individuals who share the love of dancing together. As someone who enjoys all types of music, the dance component has become that extra layer of happiness that fills my soul. It was early 2017 when I first heard about Rueda de Casino, a contagious rhythm from Cuba. Spring 2019 I asked Mike Payne to do a lesson at Timothy's for our Latin Night. It was then that I fell in love with Rueda! 3 Reasons: 1. It absolutely brings people together that all share the same passion of dance. 2. An EXCELLENT way to make new friends. 3. OMG what a great exercise!

Where do I begin?? Treinta y Tres was a whole VIBE!! The group attended my church's 10th Anniversary Celebration as the "entertainment" for the night. The had great energy, awesome dance moves & they were a ball of fun!! My Pastors loved their performance...and so did the Partners of our ministry ESPECIALLY when they asked for audience participation. Everyone joined in dancing the night away. We're so appreciative of their presence & performance.. Can't wait to have them back for another event!!
